Welcome to Open Play Mahjong Night at The Happy Southerner! This is a casual, welcoming event for Mahjong enthusiasts to gather, play, and enjoy the timeless game of skill, strategy, and a bit of luck. Whether you're a seasoned player or have played just a few times, this event is designed to provide a fun and engaging atmosphere where everyone can participate. (this is not a training event. You must know how to play Mahjong to attend this event. We also host Mahjong 101 Classes at the store for you to learn how to play Mahjong & you can sign up for one of those classes)
What to Expect:
Be Sure to Register: Seating is limited so be sure to register for this event. It's FREE!Â
Come & Go: We will have tables set up to start playing at 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. You can come by yourself or bring a group of friends.Â
All Skill Levels Welcome: Experienced players can dive into competitive games, while newcomers can join at learning tables with others who are still getting the hang of the game.
Community Spirit: Meet fellow Mahjong lovers, make new friends, and enjoy the camaraderie of playing together.
What to Bring:
Bring your Mahjong equipment!
We will not be providing Mahjong tiles, sets, table cloths or any other Mahjong equipment. Please bring your Mahjong tiles with you.Â
We will be providing tables & chairs & light refreshments. You are also welcome to BYOB.
